About

Dr Nirwana is a Lecturer at the Department of Forestry, she is also the lead at the Forest Ecology and Conservation Laboratory. Her research focuses on two areas: 1) Understanding mangrove ecology characteristics and 2) Mangrove valuation and relation to the community welfares.
Mangroves are highly productive ecosystems that provide numerous ecological services, such as carbon sequestration, shoreline protection, and habitat for various species. Research helps us understand the economic value of these services, which can strengthen the case for mangrove conservation and management.
