Makassar, 11 July 2026 – The Forestry Study Programme of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar, held a Workshop on Developing the 2024 KPT Curriculum Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) as a strategic step to strengthen curriculum implementation aligned with national higher education quality assurance policies. The event took place on Saturday (11/7/2026) at the Hall of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, and was attended by faculty leadership, the Quality Control Group (GKM), Forestry Study Programme lecturers, and resource persons from academia.
The workshop carried the theme "Developing an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Oriented towards the SDGs in Implementing Permendiktisaintek Number 39 of 2025", reflecting the Forestry Study Programme's commitment to producing a curriculum that is adaptive to scientific developments and the needs of the world of work, while also supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The implementation of OBE is a key approach in higher education quality assurance under the latest government regulations.
The event was officially opened with a series of activities, including singing the Indonesian national anthem and the Muhammadiyah March, recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, and remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Dr. Ir. Andi Khaeriyah, IPU. She expressed support for the study programme's activities, particularly in encouraging curriculum adjustments for the advancement and long-term preparation of the Forestry Study Programme in readiness for re-accreditation by LAM-PTIP. Following the opening, the main workshop session featured Dr. Ir. Mais Ilsan, M.P. as the resource person. He presented on the policy direction for developing an OBE-based curriculum, aligning Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), formulating graduate profiles, mapping study materials, and developing Semester Learning Plans (RPS) oriented towards student learning outcomes.
During the discussion session, lecturers actively provided input on refining the curriculum structure, integrating stakeholder needs, implementing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme, and strengthening graduate competencies relevant to the challenges of the forestry sector in the era of digital transformation and sustainable development.
The Head of the Forestry Study Programme, Ir. Jauhar Mukti, S.Hut., M.Hut., IPM., stated that this workshop is a crucial moment in ensuring that the Forestry Study Programme curriculum keeps pace with national regulatory developments while also addressing the needs of the world of work and society.
"The curriculum is the heart of the educational process. Through this workshop, we hope that all lecturers share a common understanding in developing an Outcome-Based Education curriculum so that Unismuh Makassar forestry graduates possess superior, adaptive, and Islamic-character competencies, and are able to compete at both national and international levels," he said.
The event ran interactively from 08.00 to 16.00 WITA, divided into material presentation, discussion, and alignment of curriculum documents and RPS as follow-up actions for implementing the OBE curriculum within the Forestry Study Programme.
The workshop concluded with a group photo session involving the resource person, faculty leadership, and all participants as a symbol of shared commitment to improving the quality of education in the Forestry Study Programme, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. It is hoped that the outcomes of this workshop will serve as the basis for developing a curriculum that is more responsive to scientific developments and the needs of the forestry industry, while also supporting the achievement of superior accreditation and the continuous improvement of higher education quality.
