The Forestry Student Association of the Faculty of Agriculture (HMK-FP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar commemorated its 17th anniversary under the theme “Reflecting on 17 Years of HMK-FP in Uniting Organisational Spirit and Sustainable Forestry.” This commemoration served as a significant moment for all members to evaluate the organisation's journey while reinforcing their commitment to achieving sustainable forest resource management.
A Memorable Celebration at a Historic Venue
The anniversary event took place on 28 November 2025 at the Ujung Pandang Traditional House, within the Somba Opu Fortress area in Makassar. The gathering was attended by lecturers from the Forestry Study Programme, faculty leadership, student organisations across the Faculty of Agriculture, and representatives from the Silva organisation at various universities.
Voices of Support and Aspiration
In his address, the Head of the Forestry Study Programme, Ir. Jauhar Mukti, S.Hut., M.Hut., IPM, highlighted that the anniversary serves as a platform for reflecting on HMK's 17-year journey and for projecting the organisation's future aspirations. He emphasised that this celebration offers an opportunity for all HMK cadres to make more significant contributions, both to the organisation and to the advancement of sustainable forestry.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Muh. Ikbal, S.Pi., M.Si., IPM, expressed his appreciation for the successful organisation of the event. He regarded the 17th anniversary of HMK-FP as a strategic moment to encourage the organisation to become more responsive to humanitarian and environmental issues. He also expressed hope that HMK would continue to adapt to emerging challenges and deliver tangible benefits to society through various constructive works and positive actions.

The 17th anniversary commemoration of HMK-FP proceeded with solemnity and warmth, providing a shared space for reflection and reaffirming the organisation's resolve to strengthen solidarity, enhance the quality of its cadres, and broaden its contributions to forestry and environmental issues in the years ahead.
