Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar officially welcomed thousands of new students for the 2025/2026 academic year through the Academic and Student Orientation held at the Muktamar Hall on Saturday, 6 September 2025. The event was attended by more than 3,200 new students, both in person and online, from various regions across Indonesia.
Rector's Message: Commitment to Quality Education and Islamic Values
In his address, the Rector of Unismuh, Dr Abdul Rahim Nanda, emphasised the university's commitment to providing quality education while strengthening the values of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) as its distinctive characteristics. He also reminded students of the importance of making the most of their university experience to develop their personal capacities, both academically and organisationally.
Faculty Introduction and Student Activities
Several faculties subsequently continued the introduction (ta'aruf) agenda in stages, including familiarising students with the lecture system, student organisations, and various Student Activity Units (UKM). This serves as an initial step in shaping the character and academic culture of the new students.
Welcome from the Forestry Study Programme
The Forestry Study Programme at Unismuh Makassar also extended a special welcome to the new students. “Welcome to the Kehutanan Unismuh family. We hope you will become a generation that cares for forests, the environment, and society, and is ready to contribute to sustainable natural resource management,” said the Head of the Forestry Study Programme, Ir. Jauhar Mukti, S.Hut., M.Hut., IPM.
With the spirit of “Sehat, Islami, Bersinar” (Healthy, Islamic, Shining), Unismuh Makassar is ready to accompany new students towards a superior and competitive future.
